PRIMING THE SHUTTERS

Are your shutters looking worn and faded? Use Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Turbo Primer and Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Satin Spray Paint to give your shutters a new, modern look in an easy DIY project.

  1. Lightly sand the unfinished shutter with fine grit sandpaper and wipe off residue with  tack cloth.
  2. Following the instructions on the can, spray paint the shutters with Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 primer spray primer in the Turbo Spray System®, then let it dry.
  3. Paint the shutters with Stops Rust Satin Spray Paint. Follow the instructions on the spray paint can. Shake the can for one minute after the mixing ball releases. Hold your can of spray paint 8-12" from the surface and apply light coats of spray paint, waiting a few minutes between each coat to ensure even coverage.

Tip: Old shower curtains make excellent drop cloths for large projects.
